Armed Forces Day
Following on from the Government’s Announcement on the
22 January concerning the re naming of Veterans Day to
Armed Forces Day, the Andover Branch of The Royal
British Legion is to hold their own event on Vigo Park
Andover which will be similar to last years successful
event but with more content.
The event is scheduled for
Sunday 28th June 2009 and will consist of Static Vehicle
and Helicopter Displays, Arena events by Re-enactment
groups, Band Display, Parachute drop and a Thanksgiving
The Day will be a fun day for all the family with the
small children’s park being complimented with Bouncy
Castles, Tug of War Competition and fun family events.
A parachute drop into the park by the Red Devils will
take place shortly after the opening.
Market type stalls are welcome and if any organisation
would like to host a pitch, sponsor the event or put on
their own display they should contact the organiser

The day will culminate in a March Past through the town
by Service Personnel, Veterans, Cadets, Scouts and
Guides etc. and will include the Royal British Legion
Bikers Branch along with a parade of veteran vehicles
and a helicopter flypast.
